About AndPayments

AndPayments is building the next-generation payments stack for Indian businesses, and for businesses globally that need India-grade payments infrastructure. We operate across Payments, RegTech, B2B SaaS and Prepaid Instruments. These are not separate bets. They are a deliberate stack: compliance infrastructure that enables payment products that enable financial instruments, all built together rather than bolted together.

We move fast because we have to. We care deeply about compliance because we build on regulated infrastructure, and because we believe compliance done right is a competitive moat, not just a cost of doing business. We use AI as a primary operating layer, not as a productivity add-on. If you want to spend the next few years building something that will define how Indian businesses transact, and eventually how businesses transact globally, this is where you should be.

About the role

The PPI space in India is under-built relative to its potential. Merchants deploying wallets are dealing with fragmented reconciliation, brittle integrations, opaque reporting, and developer tooling that wasn’t designed to scale. The infrastructure exists. The product layer does not.

This role owns the PPI stack end-to-end: from the developer integrating our APIs to the merchant deploying wallets at scale to the payer completing a transaction in under three seconds. You will define what great looks like across the full experience. You will identify and close gaps in success rates, TATs, reconciliation and reporting before merchants feel them. You will work with banking partners, compliance teams, engineering and product support as naturally as you work with data. And you will stay close enough to merchants to keep finding problems worth solving.

This is a high-ownership IC role. You will write the playbook for what you will build next.

What you'll do

  • Build and execute the product strategy and roadmap for your charter: from opportunity identification through to shipped features, measurable outcomes and clear communication to leadership.
  • Own the end-to-end PPI product offering across issuance and lifecycle management, balance and ledger maintenance tools, on-us processing rails, success rates, TATs, reconciliation and reporting. You will treat every gap as a product problem to be solved, not a support ticket to be closed.
  • Design and own KYC flows across full-KYC and minimum-KYC instrument types, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience while meeting RBI compliance requirements, program limits and transaction caps without friction.
  • Collaborate with other PMs to define the product requirements and roadmap for UPI and card-based authorization integrations, working closely with engineering and banking partners to improve authorization rates, reduce latency and close edge-case failures.
  • Work with Fraud & Risk teams to define the rules engine, tune detection logic, and integrate with fraud monitoring systems covering transaction fraud, dormancy monitoring, suspicious closure patterns and proactive intervention.
  • Build and manage the full wallet lifecycle across wallet-to-bank withdrawals, settlement flows, interoperability (PPI-to-bank and PPI-to-PPI via UPI), cashback and rewards mechanics so businesses can build differentiated products on top of our stack.
  • Stay close to merchants: run discovery calls, synthesise support patterns, read transaction data, and continuously surface problems worth building for.
  • Own cross-functional delivery: take a requirement through engineering, design, compliance, operations, finance and measure your success by outcomes shipped, not specifications written.
  • Lead competitive and market research on the PPI ecosystem; produce a clear point of view on where the market is heading, and translate it into roadmap decisions you can defend.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of owning outcomes not just shipping features. You should be able to point to something that changed because you built it.
  • You can write a crisp spec, drive alignment in an ambiguous room, and communicate a decision and its trade-offs clearly to both engineers and executives.
  • Solid understanding of web-based architecture, RESTful APIs and network protocols. You do not need to write the code, but you need to understand the constraints your engineers are working within.
  • Comfortable working directly with data: funnels, success rates, cohort analysis, reconciliation reports. You define your own success metrics and track them.
  • Experience shipping products that required navigating real dependencies across compliance review, banking partner approvals, or operational constraints and getting to launch anyway.
  • Experience in fintech or payments: understanding of payment rails, settlement flows, reconciliation mechanics, or regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience with Prepaid Instruments, wallets, or stored-value products specifically.
  • Familiarity with PPI regulations in India across RBI guidelines, KYC requirements, transaction limits, etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical field.

Nice to have

  • Experience building 0-to-1 products: something that did not exist before you joined, and does now.
  • MBA or equivalent — useful, not required.
  • Startup or early-stage company experience, where scope is earned, not assigned.

AI at AndPayments

AI is the primary operating layer at AndPayments. Humans supervise; AI executes the first pass on research, documentation, analysis and synthesis.

As a PM, you will be expected to use AI tools, agentic workflows, and whatever replaces them — to move faster on competitive analysis, PRD drafts, data synthesis, and experiment design. You will also be expected to exercise judgement about when the output is ready and when it needs significant revision.

We are not looking for people who avoid AI. We are also not looking for people who outsource their thinking to it. We are looking for people who have genuinely changed how they work because of AI and who remain rigorous about the quality of what they produce.
